Perspectives are relative to where one stands. Benevolence is a synthesis of non-uniformity perhaps mirroring the diversity of Chicago’s occupants and weather. The juxtaposition of fragmented colors and pattern provides a dynamic 360 degree view. A mutable point of view of the sculpture is achieved depending on where the viewer stands. The totem pole like pieces, seem to narrate assorted chapters of a story; waiting for the observer to connect meanings to their own past knowledge and experiences. Taylor’s monumental sculpture stands 105 x 30 x 30 inches and is at the Skokie NorthShore Sculpture Park. Please visit their website and experience all of the sculptures on display.
