There are many values I would pass on to students. Coming from a graphic design background, one of the values that I would instill in each student is to value their own artwork and/or their profession. How does one add value to artwork or even a profession? Don’t sell yourself/ your work cheap nor devalue your profession as an artist. Artwork and profession is valued if the artist values pricing.
